Brand Strategy for the AI Era
Helping independent interiors and lifestyle brands define what makes them special, strengthen how they’re discovered and bring in AI as smart support.
If AI feels like a lot, you’re not alone. The pace is fast, the options keep expanding and most advice is too technical or too generic to feel truly relevant.
AI is changing how customers find brands and how teams create the work behind the scenes. Independent interiors and lifestyle businesses face two challenges: show up clearly across search, social and AI answers, and adopt AI in a way that protects voice, standards, customer trust - without losing the craft in your team.
I help you do both - starting with brand foundations, then embedding practical, brand-safe AI so your team can work with more ease, consistency and confidence.
A two-part, brand-first approach
Two connected strands, designed to work together:
Brand Building & AI Search Readiness
Define your positioning and messaging so you’re easier to find - and easier to choose - across search, social, marketplaces and AI answers. This is the upfront work that keeps your brand unmistakeable and consistent.
Smart Tool Integration & Team Enablement
Build a thoughtful, brand-safe AI approach into the day-to-day, so less time is lost to repetitive tasks, consistency stays high, and your team has more space for the work that needs taste, judgement and care.
Think of it as a map: direction first, then the tools and ways of working to follow through with confidence.
These principles are my proprietary framework for brand-first AI adoption for independent, design-led interiors and lifestyle businesses.
They connect strategy with practical integration - because AI only works well when your positioning, voice and standards are defined upfront.
I use them to keep every project practical, brand-safe and human-led.
The 10 Principles of Good AI Adoption
-
If it doesn’t protect what makes you you, it’s not the right use of AI. Your voice is non-negotiable.
-
Use AI to lighten the load, but keep the moments of care, judgement and nuance firmly in human hands.
-
Adopt AI from the top-down. Define what AI can and can't do. Appoint and empower an AI Champion. Set standards and expectations.
-
Choose your platform with care, use AI intentionally, and be clear about where it helps - and where it doesn’t belong.
-
Get the work out of your head and onto the page first - then you can see where AI genuinely helps (and where it won’t).
-
AI needs context, standards, and constraints. Quality in = quality out.
-
Prompting matters, but judgement matters more. Hone your eye for detail. Edit. Verify. Refine. Never accept AI output as final.
-
Make AI a shared way of working - with clear guidance, simple training and space for people to learn at their own pace.
-
Keep it simple. Fewer tools, fewer use cases, better standards - and results you can actually sustain.
-
AI should improve decisions, smooth process, or free up time for what matters to you. Set KPIs and hold your AI to account (just like you would your team)

A brand-first approach to the AI era
I’m a brand and communications strategist with 20+ years’ experience across independent interiors and lifestyle brands in the UK and internationally (including Habitat, Alessi, Cassina, Dulux and TREE).
My work is rooted in design-led brand craft - where taste, storytelling and standards come first and consistency builds trust over time - and that’s the lens I bring to the AI era.
I began applying AI in 2023 during a major brand-led transformation, and have since built on that through London Business School training, ongoing research and daily hands-on use.
Today, I help time-stretched leaders and teams find their footing in this new era - setting a clear direction and creating a lighter, brand-safe way of working.
Brand strategy for today’s world - blending practical AI where it adds value, infusing confidence and clarity at every level, while protecting the soul of your brand.
Working together
My work follows a clear path: strategy first, then practical integration - embedding brand-safe tools and habits that make delivery more consistent, without diluting voice or lowering standards.
We’ll choose the right engagement level for where you are now, with the same aim throughout: clearer positioning, stronger discovery, and confident AI adoption.
